Description:1. Check in each runner as s/he completes the leg. 2. Account for each team. We want to be sure that each team that has a runner will complete each leg. When the last team has passed, please call your Race Section Chief on his/her cell phone number (this will be provided to you). 3. Check safety. If you are at a transition area through which participants will run between dusk and dawn, you must check that the runner is wearing a lighted reflective vest and is equipped with a headlamp and/or flashlight. Runners may not begin a run after 7PM without their "night" gear. 4. Direct team vehicles in and out of the designated parking area, and monitor vehicle activity in this area. 5. Respond to technical (race related) questions with the assistance of a Mass Dash staff chief whose name and contact information will be provided. If you cannot answer specific technical questions, convey these questions to a Mass Dash staff chief. 6. Respond to questions about the Mass Dash, Jimmy Fund or Dana Farber Cancer Institute. If you have knowledge or familiarity, you can answer questions. If not, you can refer an inquiry to the website which is www.massdashrelay.org. 7. Be aware of your specific location (the name of the transition area) and contact information for local police and emergency responders. We will provide this information to you. Please look carefully for the green cones designating the transition zone. One person may need to stand at the Inn parking lot to stop the vans from parking and the teams from trying to transition too soon!
