Release, Acknowledgement and Consent: I agree to volunteer for the Scotiabank Calgary marathon (hereinafter called the ?event?). I understand that my volunteering for the event may involve risk of: physical injury to myself or others, damage to my property or other consequences as a result of weather, event equipment, my own actions or actions of others whether negligent or otherwise. In consideration of The Calgary Marathon Society permitting me to volunteer at the event, I hereby release myself and my heirs, assigns, guardians, administrators and executors and from all liability and waive any and all claims for damages (whether for personal injury, death, illness, property damage and/or property loss), including claims for negligence, which I may have as a result of my volunteering for this event, against the following: The Calgary Marathon Society and its directors, event employees; event contractors; race organizers including the race director; event volunteers, event sponsors; event producers; officials; vendors; athletes; and all provincial, municipal, town and federal government agencies who have provided permits for the event or in which a portion of the event takes place (hereinafter referred to as the ?released parties?). I consent to the use of personal information contained in this volunteer form for the purpose of soliciting my participation in, or volunteering at, future Calgary Marathon Society events. I also consent to the use of any of my name and photos of me from the event in any publicity associated with the event and in any form of promotional material for the Calgary Marathon Society. In signing this volunteer form, I acknowledge that I have read this release, acknowledgement and consent in its entirety, that I understand and agree to be bound by its terms, and that I am signing voluntarily without duress or undue influence from anyone.
The parent or legal guardian who signs the release, acknowledgement and consent on behalf of a minor, incapacitated and/or mentally challenged person (hereinafter "said person"),hereby acknowledges that he or she has the legal capacity and authority to act on behalf of said person to legally bind said person to the release, acknowledgement and consent. The parent or legal guardian who signs the release, acknowledgement and consent agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the released parties for any expenses incurred, claims made, or liabilities assessed against them as a result of any insufficiency of legal capacity or authority to act on behalf of said person in the execution of the release, acknowledgement and consent. |
